What is DNS Propagation?

DNS propagation is the time it takes for DNS record changes to be reflected across all DNS servers worldwide. When you update a DNS record, the change doesn't happen instantly — cached copies of the old record may persist until their TTL (Time to Live) expires, which can take minutes to 48 hours.

This free DNS propagation checker queries DNS servers in multiple locations to show whether your record changes have propagated. Use it after updating nameservers, changing A records, or modifying MX records to verify the rollout is progressing. Results show the current state from our Australian vantage point.
